Senior Quantum Consultant / Associate Director

We are currently looking for a Quantum Consultant at either Senior or Associate Director level.  The successful applicant will be required to work on a variety of commissions, either independently or as part of a team.  The duties to be performed in this role will include the following:

  • Forensic investigation of project accounts.
  • The preparation of final accounts to ‘adjudication’ standard.
  • Calculation of damages/loss and expense incurred as a result of delay or breach of contract.
  • The preparation of written reports for use in dispute resolution processes, including mediation, adjudication and litigation; prepared as either advocate or independent expert.
  • Party representation or defence in formal proceedings including adjudication and mediation.
  • Provision of commercial support on live commissions including management of client teams and commercial advice.

The successful individual must have the following:

  • A minimum five years’ experience as a quantity surveyor from either a client or contractor background.
  • Experience of providing commercial support in a client facing environment.
  • Excellent working knowledge of various standard forms including NEC and JCT.
  • Skilled in the management of procurement strategy and contract administration.
  • A proven track record of working in the dispute resolution field.
  • A solid understanding of contract and law within the construction industry, with a particular focus on matters relating to the assessment and calculation of damages/loss and expense.
  • Excellent team working skills along with the ability to work autonomously.
  • Strong written and oral presentation skills.
  • Flexibility to adapt to changing requirements and circumstances.
  • The ability to work on multiple commissions as well as to organise and oversee others involved in those commissions.
  • A robust knowledge of construction techniques.
  • A relevant construction degree.

The following attributes are also desirable, but not essential:

  • Postgraduate degree in construction law or similar.
  • Membership of a professional body.
  • Experience acting as Expert Witness.
