Sam Playford is an experienced construction professional with over 25 years of construction industry experience.
In the first 10 years of his career, Sam worked for UK main contracting organisations primarily as programmer and planner both on live projects and pre-construction (tender planning).
During his time on site, Sam developed a proven track record of creating robust programmes and managed the programming and progress reporting functions of various projects. Together with his programming and progress responsibilities, Sam occasionally acted as sub-contractor package manager.
Between 2008 and 2010, Sam worked in the pre-construction department of a renowned firm where he advised clients and in-house project managers on buildability and phasing of major housing, rail and road infrastructure projects.
In 2010 Sam moved to a specialist dispute resolution / expert witness practice to further his career in the field of delay analysis, litigation support and dispute resolution. In this role, he regularly assisted appointed experts in large international arbitrations. Sam has been appointed as a delay expert in his own right on numerous occasions and has provided oral evidence in adjudicator’s meetings. Sam has also assisted counsel with preparations for cross-examination of opposing experts.
Sam has experience of all recognised forms of delay analysis and is a Bond Solon certified expert witness. Sam has prepared reports which convey complex issues in a clear and concise manner and capable of withstanding scrutiny.
He has provided opinion on numerous residential and mixed-use schemes, including cladding remediation projects and has advised clients and their legal teams on a wide variety of projects within the public and private sectors.
