Damian is a Chartered Quantity Surveyor with over 35 years of experience in construction, specialising in dispute avoidance and resolution, strategic procurement and contract advisory. He is a Fellow of the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors and the Chartered Institute of Arbitrators.
Damian has been appointed as a quantum expert witness in adjudication, arbitration and litigation, including giving evidence under cross-examination in international arbitration. He has also acted as a party representative in adjudication and presented at mediation hearings.
He has prepared over 100 construction claims and been involved in more than 30 adjudications. His experience includes complex quantum assessments, prolongation and disruption claims, and advising on JCT, NEC, FIDIC and bespoke contracts. Damian’s technical knowledge is supported by extensive qualifications, including undergraduate qualifications in construction, graduate qualification in quantity surveying, Master of Laws and Master of Science degrees in Construction Law & Arbitration, and he is a Bond Solon Certified Expert Witness.
Damian has advised government agencies, employers and contractors on major construction programmes across the UK and internationally, including the Middle East, Europe, Africa and Central Asia. He has also undertaken over 50 risk management studies and delivered more than 175 training seminars.
Away from work, Damian is a certified StrongFirst GIRYA kettlebell instructor.
