Christopher McCormick is a highly skilled and experienced delay analyst and expert witness with a career in the construction industry spanning 32 years.
Chris’ career initially developed within main contracting organisations where he held roles as site engineer, senior engineer, site agent, statutory undertakers coordinator, design coordinator, temporary works coordinator and latterly tender and project planning engineer.
During his time as a planning engineer, Chris established a track record of producing robust programmes from first principles and managed the onsite planning and programming function of various multimillion-pound projects. In addition to critical path analysis (gantt charts), Chris is experienced in the use of time location planning techniques and specialist earthworks planning.
In 2006, Chris moved from main contracting into consultancy to further his career in the field of forensic planning and delay analysis. Since his move into consultancy, he has been appointed as delay expert on over 100 occasions, and his reports have been used in litigation, arbitration, and adjudication proceedings. Chris has given written and oral evidence in the High Court and other alternative dispute resolution forums.
Chris also undertakes non-contentious commissions including project monitoring, programme audit, the development of planning systems, and the delivery of planning-related training.
He has a proven ability to assist lawyers, counsel and tribunals by explaining complex issues in a concise and intelligible manner. Chris has experience of structured negotiation, early neutral evaluation (ENE), adjudication, mediation, arbitration, and litigation. In addition, he has experience across many forms of dispute resolution under different forms of contract.
