Biography

David is a quantity surveyor who has worked for both clients and contractors during his career. A fellow of the Chartered Institute of Arbitrators, David holds a Masters’ degree in Construction Law and Dispute Resolution and a Diploma in Adjudication.

He is a contract and commercial consultant with experience spanning more than 20 years. David started his career working for two of the UKs largest construction companies before moving into a consultancy role. He has worked on a range of projects in roads, rail, and utilities sectors. David is familiar with the standard forms of contract. He has provided impartial and independent advice to assist parties to understand the strengths and weaknesses of their claims. He regularly prepares and defends claims on behalf of clients including both quantum and time.

David is an adjudicator and panel member of the CIArb Low Value Disputes panel and the UK Adjudicators panel. He has represented sub-contractors and main contractors in adjudication proceedings, managing the entire process. Issues range from unlawful termination and complex final account disputes to simple payment issues.

David is an ardent Harlequins fan and when not in the office can be found cheering them on at the Stoop.
