Ewan started his career as a quantity surveyor . He gained experience in the commercial management of construction projects for a variety of contractors in live project environments. Prior to joining Tudor Rose, Ewan worked for an international construction consultancy firm based in the United Arab Emirates where he gained experience on projects across the Middle East.
Ewan has provided strategic support on live commissions. He has assisted project teams in the identification and management of commercial and time related risks on projects with values in excess of £100m. Ewan has gained experience in undertaking the forensic analysis of documentation in order to establish and demonstrate contractual entitlement to time and/or money. This has resulted in Ewan preparing notices and claims to demonstrate contractor entitlements.
Ewan prepares claim submissions on behalf of clients and assists with the drafting of arbitration pleadings alongside clients’ legal representatives. Ewan has also prepared and assisted with the drafting of independent expert witness reports for arbitration. He has experience under the Scottish Arbitration Rules in the United Kingdom and DIFC-LCIA Rules, DIAC Rules and ICC Rules in the Middle East.
Ewan has completed a Primavera P6 Professional Fundamentals course and has experience with other programming software such as Asta Powerproject.
Ewan has gained experience working on a variety of construction and engineering projects ranging from housing developments, data centres, shopping malls and commercial skyscrapers. He has managed and implemented contractual procedures under all forms of JCT, NEC and FIDIC contracts across multiple continents, with differing laws and customs.
To relax in his spare time, Ewan enjoys playing a variety of sports.
