Biography

Gordon brings over 35 years of specialist expertise in planning, programming, and construction dispute resolution. His career spans roles as Planning Engineer, Claims and Forensic Planner, and Planning/Delay Expert, delivering services across diverse sectors including building, infrastructure, energy, process, oil and gas (onshore and offshore), and residential construction. He has successfully supported projects throughout the UK, Western Europe, the Middle East, and North and South America, often undertaking site visits to understand the effect of delay events on projects.

Gordon is highly experienced in forensic delay analysis and the preparation and assessment of extension of time claims. He has acted as an independent expert in adjudication, international arbitration, and litigation, producing expert reports, determining causes of delay, and providing impartial opinions on entitlement. His knowledge spans major contract forms such as FIDIC, JCT, NEC, and bespoke agreements. Additionally, Gordon has advised contractors, insurers, loss adjusters, and legal teams on complex insurance matters, including Delay in Start-Up (DISU), Advance Loss of Profit (ALOP), and Business Interruption (BI) claims, through forensic programme audits and analysis.

Gordon is a follower of Formula 1 and enjoys spending time with his family and playing golf!
