Jeff Whitfield is Fellow of the RICS and a highly skilled and experienced testifying quantum expert witness. He is a published construction author with a career in the construction industry spanning over 40 years.
His career initially developed within main contracting organisations. He was commercial director of a building services companies before leading the commercial directorate of an international construction group.
In 1992 Jeff joined the fledgeling Academy of Experts and moved from main contracting. Since moving into consultancy, Jeff has been appointed as quantum and delay expert on over 200 occasions. His reports have been used in litigation, arbitration, and adjudication proceedings. Jeff has testified in the High Court and international arbitrations in Geneva, Paris, London, Dubai and New York. He is regularly instructed in many other alternative dispute resolution forums.
Jeff has held a law degree since 1988. He has a proven ability to assist lawyers, counsel and tribunals by explaining complex construction issues in a clear and concise manner.
In the 2025 Lexology Index, Jeff is recommended in the construction practice area.
Jeff has been instructed on some of the world’s largest disputes including the Storebaelt Bridge (Denmark), The Lantau Crossing (Hong Kong) as well as airports in Cairo, Beirut and Doha. He has testified on construction matters such as the world’s largest racecourse. His project experience spans the global power, marine, offshore and shipping sectors. Jeff’s dispute experience has encompassed disputed amounts of up to $1.2 billion.
