Biography

Nic has over 40 years of experience in the energy industry and is regularly appointed as an expert and expert advisor on contractual, project management and quantum matters in disputes. His experience spans the electricity, renewables and grid sectors, with particular expertise in Contracts for Difference, contract management and complex commercial arrangements.   He is a Fellow of the Institution of Engineering and Technology and CEng.

Nic has acted as an expert witness in both technical and quantum matters and has been cross-examined in litigation. He has also acted as a dispute director and adviser, supporting clients in resolving complex disputes through negotiated settlements.

His experience has been acquired across a wide range of energy and renewable technologies, including onshore and offshore wind, floating wind, battery energy storage, tidal stream, hydrogen and Advanced Conversion Technology. Nic’s international experience includes disputes and projects across the UK, Germany, France, Scandinavia and Africa.

Nic has held senior positions with RWE where he was Head of Strategy for the development of its renewables activities and subsequently Dispute Director on the £300m Greater Gabbard dispute with Fluor. His recent work has focused on FIDIC contracts, alongside NEC, power purchase agreements, trading service agreements and other bespoke forms of contract.

Outside of work Nic cycles with a local club and enjoys reading.
