Richard Hill is a chartered quantity surveyor with over forty years’ experience in the construction industry. He has also worked extensively overseas, in Western and Central Europe. He set up and ran an office in Poland from 1996 to 1999, and has worked on projects in France, Holland, Spain, Luxemburg, Czech Republic and Serbia.
Richard has acted as advisor on construction disputes over the last 15 years. He has been appointed as an expert witness, acting for both the claimant and respondent, working with major firms of solicitors and barristers. He has given oral evidence in the TCC and Chancery Division of the High Court, LCIA arbitration and attended adjudication hearings, planning enquiry hearings and mediation meetings.
He has experience of many standard forms of contract including JCT, NEC3, IChemE and FIDIC, as well as many bespoke forms for specific projects.
Richard has worked on a broad range of UK and international projects across a number of sectors including infrastructure, civil engineering, process engineering, regeneration, commercial offices, fit-out, residential, hotel, leisure and retail schemes.
